5 products for glowy holiday skin
These 5 products have given me the glowiest skin on holiday and I’m so here for it! I never used to wear anything on holiday but I always feel more confident with a little bit of something on. I had a makeup lesson before I came away and a lot of these products are what she recommended.
So here’s my top picks for realistic 5-minute holiday makeup for mums!
This L'Oréal Glotion has been my FAVE buy! It gives you the most glowy skin without being heavy so perfect for holiday. It’s so cheap too!
Next is the product that actually makes me look like I have a tan! This liquid bronzer is a bit more money bit it’s so worth it.
When I had the makeup lesson she said stick with a cheap concealer so I went for this one as it really brightens the eyes! I got shade Fair Beige but it’s actually a little too light for me.
This liquid lipstick is amazing and it’s on sale here!! I wear 305 Velvet.
Finally this is what I set it all with. It stops everything sweating off my face in this insane humidity!

50% off kids clothes
There’s up to 50% off kids clothes at H&M currently. They run a few of these sales a year and it’s definitely worth stocking up. I love the Disney stuff at H&M - its so much cuter than most places.
Devon Cliffs deal
Here’s a great deal for the Devon Cliffs holiday site! Six of you can stay in a 3-bedroom caravan for five days in October (13th-17th) for just £69! We’ve stayed here before and really rated it!
Note, this deal is not available in October half term.
Cheap school shoes hack
If you're already thinking about the school uniforms you need to buy before September, don't forget to check out the Clarks Outlet online. They do pretty much identical shoes that were in the shops last year but for a huge discount. The styles are often 'last years' version, but the difference is so small and the savings are huge! And do the kids really care?!
Six day family holiday in France for £1,000
You can enjoy a six-day holiday in the South of France for a family of four at a 5-star resort for under £1,000!*
We’ve been to this Eurocamp before and it’s jam-packed with things to do for the whole family no matter what type of holiday you’re after. We were spoilt for choice for things to do, but here’s my top picks:
Water-park heaven! There are three outdoor pools, one of which is heated, a variety of slides and water chutes and two indoor pools. There is also a toddler-friendly zone to splash about in safely
The location was perfect! Close to a gorgeous beach and is a great base for families wanting an active holiday exploring the local area but also perfect for those wanting a more relaxing break.
Perfect for families with children of all ages
From 28th August - 2nd September the resort costs under £500 for a family of 4, and flights from London to Nice are coming in at around £500 for the whole family. It’s about a 45-minute drive away so you could get a quick transfer or hire a car which is about £30 a day. It would make a nice getaway right before the kids go back to school.**
*includes cost for the resort and flights - not the hire car
**most schools go back on 3rd September
Legoland Florida
Who knew they had a Legoland in Florida? We're here this week and its been amazing! The place is huge, they have a waterpark and they also have a Peppa Pig World next door! The ticket price is more for Peppa Pig world but you can do combination tickets. We booked our Disney tickets through attractiontickets.com and they've got a deal on for Legoland Florida too. They seem to be consistently lowest on price for a lot of Florida attractions.
DEAL STACK! You can also get cashback through TopCashback when you buy through them - up to 5.25% cashback!

MoneySuperMarket's SuperSaveClub
Some rewards programmes sound great in theory but end up being more hassle than they’re worth. So when I first heard about MoneySuperMarket’s SuperSaveClub, I was a bit sceptical.
But after giving it a go (mainly because I was booking travel insurance anyway), I realised it’s actually really useful – especially if you’re a parent trying to keep costs down whilst still making fun memories!
So here’s the lowdown on what it is, how it works, and why I think it’s worth signing up.
Travel magnetic tiles
These travel magnetic tiles have been a God send for travelling around with the kids and for entertaining them when we’re eating out. These are the ones I picked up in Target and they are well worth having in your handbag! Thank me later!
£65 off an RV rental
If you follow me on Instagram you’ll see I’ve been a bit disappointed with the motorhome we’ve rented in America but I loved the one we hired with Roadsurfer in Devon last year. They are hire them out in America and have recently announced they’ll be hiring from Miami this year too! Looks like we’ll be heading to Miami one day ;-)
For £65 off selected locations use code SUMMER2025. Book 5 nights or more to use the code in Europe or the US.
If you wanted an American trip use code LONGTRIP25 to save £210 off in LA! (when you stay 7 nights or more)
Hair frizz stick
The humidity has been awful in Florida, especially for my daughters hair. As soon as I tie it up it looks like I haven't brushed it for days. I grabbed one of these and it’s been amazing. You don’t seem to be able to get the exact one in the UK but my friend uses the one I’ve linked and really rates it.
Bikinis: splurge and save options
I’ve had a few messages on Instagram asking for the link to this bikini. It was more of a splurge buy but well worth it in my opinion,. I love how flattering it is, particularly the bottoms with the twisted top around the tummy and they’re super high waisted. The top is also lovely and very comfy.
DEAL STACK! You can save by signing up for the newsletter to get 15% off and 3% cashback through TopCashback.
But if you are looking for something cheaper, I also got this one which fits so well and is high-waisted too - no thongs here!
Using Monzo abroad
Whilst we’ve been America, we’ve limited the amount of cash we’ve brought with us and just used our Monzo card.
There are no fees to use abroad, a great exchange rate, and it is accepted in most places here.
I highly recommend for abroad travel and as a bank in general.
You can also get £10 when you use this referral link.
Cheap cruises in Florida?
I joked on my Instagram the other day about sacking off the RV and getting on a cruise ship, and I had a few messages to say how cheap you can get cruises for in Florida! So me being me, I went on the hunt and I’ve found a 4-night cruise from Florida to the Caribbean for under £200pp!
Get the perfect slick back bun!
If you’ve been following my America content you’ll see I’ve fallen in love with a slick back bun for my go-to holiday hair!
My sister-in-law who’s young and cool has shown me what to do… she recommended using a hair mask instead of gel for a nicer feel on your hair and then setting everything in place with this hairspray, and using this brush.
Florida Keys RV
We’ve just checked out of the second part of our stay and these static RVs on Key Largo are the PERFECT base for exploring the Keys and the Everglades. We ended up getting an upgrade to this brand new one (which NEVER happens to us!) and you can book to stay here for £142 per night.
We paid with an everup gift card and got 4.6% cashback!
The SPF I use
I’m already dreading the ‘why haven’t you got a tan?’ comments when I get home. I honestly never do, but I also really prioritise keeping my skin safe over getting a tan.
I’ve been using the Skin+Me new daily moisturiser with SPF50 since I’ve been here. It goes on really nicely under makeup and makes your skin glow. It also gives you the dermatologist recommended SPF dose in every application so you know you're using enough. I really rate it.
I did an advert with them before I left (this isn’t part of that, just a personal reocmmendation for how good it’s been) but my discount code might still work for you to try it for less. Use code BUDGETMUMSUN.
Return flights to Florida from £279pp
We travelled to Florida for £400pp this May half term, but I’ve now found an even better deal for summer!
There’s a family of 4 return deal from London Gatwick to Orlando direct with Norse for just £291pp. It overlaps the school holidays too. Perfect if you're planning ahead for a big summer adventure.
*Note that this doesn't include baggage
Ryanair approved travel bags
These handy cabin bags are Ryanair approved and currently have 63% off on eBay. Use the code LILY15 at checkout for an extra discount. Perfect if you're heading off on a budget flight soon and need a bag that fits those strict size rules!
Kids travel activity packs for £5
We brought these cute travel activity packs away with us.
They went pretty viral last year and they keep going in and out of stock.
Such good value for monney - they’re great for car or plane journeys.
Let me know if you manage to get some!
Discounted Disney tickets
We booked our tickets to Disney with AttractionTickets.com because they seem to be the only company that gives a discount!
They’ve currently got a deal on to save 12% on tickets as well as some others if you’re planning to stay on site.
You can spread the cost with instalments too. These prices are way cheaper than paying on the gate.
Loop Earplugs
I’ve been using these at Disney and they’ve really helped. They reduce noise but still let you chat – ideal for busy places or travel. The kids ones are great too, I would definitely worth it if loud environments get overwhelming for you too.
These are the ones I ordered for me and these are the ones I ordered for the kids.
My make up lesson
The other week I had a make-up lesson (because let’s be honest, my contour game needed help), and it turned into a full-on education. As someone who’s big on getting value for money, I wanted to share exactly what the make-up artist used, and whether it’s worth spending on - or, if a budget-friendly dupe does the job just fine. Read more here.
10% cashback at Costa
Get 10% cashback at Costa Coffee with Jam Doughnut.
Valid until this Friday 16th May. But you can buy the giftcard now to use at a later date!
The £9.50 Sun Holidays are back!
The £9.50 Sun Holidays are back and this is your go to guide to maximise savings whilst making memories on holiday! All the codes can be found here too.
Legoland Billund
We visited here earlier in the year but Ryanair have recently stopped direct flights here - ruining the fun! More over on my Instagram.
But I’ve been working with HolidayPirates to find some alternatives. Keep an eye on this page for alternative budget options.
I also shared more over on my Instagram the other day.
Dinnerset offer & cashback
I’ve been ordering some bits for the new kitchen (exciting!). I wanted to get some decent plates and spotted these ProCook ones on offer with £10 off.
DEAL STACK! Get up to 6% cashback through TopCashback (depends how much you’re spending)
£10 for you and a friend at Frankie & Benny’s
Here’s how to get £10 for you and a friend at Frankie & Benny’s:
Sign up to Frankie & Benny’s rewards and share the unique link with friends
They sign up through the link and receive £10 off their meal
Once they have visited you get a £10 voucher
Spots are limited so be quick!
Sand and water bench table
This sand and water bench table is currently on offer and was a fab investment for us last year, still the kids favourite garden toy! It can be used as a picnic table but if you remove the centre panel you’ll reveal a sandpit and water table!
It keeps the kids busy for hours and it only takes up a small amount of outdoor space; ideal for compact gardens or patios.
Suitcases
I’ve been looking for some new suitcases for our upcoming holiday and didn’t realise you can do click and collect at Primark!
They’ve got some great prices on luggage, including IT suitcases which are always great quality.
Do you prefer hard case suitcases or soft ones? If you’ve got any recommendations let me know!
Cashback on your shopping
You could be getting an extra £300 a year by paying for your food shopping via everup instead of your bank account. I know this sounds too good to be true but it really isn’t.
Everup is a cashback site where you buy a gift card for your favourite brands. You pay with that giftcard instead of your bank card and get cashback on the purchase.
For example, the average family of 4 is paying £150 a week for shopping. If you paid with a giftcard and got 4% cashback every time, over a year you’d have £312 back in your pocket. Its a no-brainer!
Disney World discount code
Free drinks and dining packages are now available for Disney World 2026 and you can get a 10% discount on top of this at the minute when you book through Attraction Tickets (the company we've used for ours) when you use code WDW10.
DEAL STACK! You can also stack with cashback through TopCashback - up to 5%
Legoland tickets for £22.25
You can currently get tickets to Legoland for £22.25 via the Sky VIP rewards app. Tickets are available for the whole season, right through to early November. The price is based on buying a minimum of 4 tickets.
Best plus size linen shorts
Shorts weather is here and if you’re anything like me, I’m dreading getting my legs out - but equally don’t want to be boiling hot.
I’ve been trying out some different shorts and these ones are my favourite so far.
They’re so flattering and really cool, would deffo recommend. Girls - this is your sign to wear the bl**dy shorts!
Full review of our Norfolk Broads boat holiday
There’s something incredibly magical about spending a few days on the water, surrounded by nothing but water, wildlife, and the quiet buzz of nature. And yes, you can take kids on a relaxing family getaway aboard a boat!
Our recent trip to the Norfolk Broads was the perfect family getaway: relaxing, slow-paced, and surprisingly easy to manage – even for total boating newbies like us! This is the one we booked.
I’ve pulled together a rundown of our trip, including our full itinerary, what to pack for a boating holiday on the Norfolk Broads and our genuine thoughts. Read here.
Plum's new cash ISA
You’ve all heard me talk about Plum and how it’s been great for helping me achieve my savings goals. I first downloaded Plum back in January 2024, and since then, I’ve managed to save nearly £2,500 through regular, automated savings. I didn’t change my spending habits, I didn’t move money manually - it all happened automatically thanks to Plum’s smart savings features.
Plum also has a Cash ISA, so not only do they offer a hands-off way to save, but you can now earn interest on your savings, tax-free! You can read all about it in my latest blog.
Pull & Bear hoodie
How lusssshhh is this hoodie for under £20!? Apparently all the cool kids are wearing this brand now (not that I’d know haha!)
This would be perfect for travel days.
£5 bottomless pancakes
Every Friday, Bills is bringing back this promotion where you get bottomless pancakes on selected Fridays for £5! It’s available all day on Friday 2nd, 9th and 16th May.
BeWILDerwood deal
We visited here in Norfolk a few weeks ago and it was a bit pricey but I’ve just seen they’re offering a ‘twiggle tots’ deal where 1 adult and 1 child under 3 can access for £12.50. They also have one in Cheshire.
Summer perfume deal stack
I treated myself this week to this STUNNING perfume. I swear this is the smell of the summer!
DEAL STACK! It’s on offer here with 20% off and you can get up to 16% cashback on this too through Top Cashback.
QVC
QVC is my new secret obsession!
I remember my Nan watching QVC on the TV when I was young, but did you know it’s now online?! Because I didn’t!
They’ve got some banging deals. I ordered myself some Elemis stuff on here a few months ago after I went to a spa and it was so much cheaper!
They’ve got deals on all sorts, garden furniture, coffee machines, skincare, a real mixed bag.
You can get £5 off your first order with code FIVE4U.
How I got £35 cashback on an RV holiday in Florida
Get £5 on an overpayment on your mortgage
As you know, I use the Sprive app to make overpayments on my mortgage easier. It sets my money aside for me and making overpayments have been a game-changer for us. If this is something you’re interested in doing, you can join Sprive with this link and use code GXMXGS9K, which will get you £5!
£79 mini cruise deal
Look at this fab Amsterdam deal for November!
You get an overnight ferry from Newcastle to Amsterdam, stay the night in a hotel and then get the overnight ferry home from just £79pp! Absolute steal!
Our favourite Yoto cards
We’ve always loved our Yoto player for bedtime stories. But recently, we’ve started using it more during the day, especially for home education... and honestly? Game changer.
As a home educating family, I’m always on the lookout for resources that feel fun but still spark curiosity. And these Yoto cards have done just that. They’ve opened up lovely conversations around the dinner table, helped my kids explore tricky science concepts in a way that actually sticks, and even sparked a new love of languages.
Whether you home educate or just want to make screen-free learning part of your day, they’re great! Here’s our faves.
Is getting cashback too good to be true?
I get so many messages saying surely there must be a catch when it comes to getting cashback and, honestl,y I felt the same in the beginning.
I’ve got an entire blog answering all your questions here but the short answer is - no, it’s not too good to be true!
I had several messages from people last night saying they’ve saved literally £1,000s from using cashback apps, it really does work!
6 FREE cinema tickets & £175 cash
Thinking of switching bank accounts? If you switch to Lloyds’ Club Lloyds account, you can get a free £175 as well as six free Odeon or Vue tickets a year or 12 months Disney+.
The account is fee-free as long as you meet its £2,000 a month minimum pay-in – there's a £3 a month fee (rising to £5 a month from 2nd June) if you don't.
How we got a £700 tax refund
Whilst I was on Statutory Maternity Pay, I was earning well under my tax free allowance for the year.
I put in a claim for Marriage Allowance, which meant I could transfer a portion of my tax-free allowance over to my husband. This can save you as a couple up to £252 per year.
You can also back date your claim by up to four years, which meant we also got a tax refund of over £700. More information here.
You can check your eligibility on the Government website.
How we use Monzo to save money
One of the biggest game-changers for our family budget was moving our joint bank account to Monzo and here’s why… the Pots feature!
You can set up a ‘pot’ for all of the different things you’re saving for or need to buy - it’s like cash stuffing envelopes but digital!
I love it and its the first thing I ever recommend to anyone looking to improve their finances. I’ve written a blog on Monzo and it’s features - check it out here.
How much money are you wasting?
Have you ever stopped to think about how much money you waste each year?
Taking the time to review your spending can be a game-changer for your finances. It’ll allow you to identify problem areas, spot patterns, and create a plan to overcome bad spending habits.
The best tool I’ve found for this is this app - and the best part? It’s completely free! With just a few taps, you can generate a full spending analysis and start making smarter choices.
How we’re overpaying our mortgage
One of our biggest joint financial goals for the next decade is to overpay our mortgage, here’s how we’re making it happen:
Automated savings: Every month, I use Plum and Sprive to automatically set aside money. These apps take small amounts from our account without us even noticing!
Cashback for overpayments: I earn cashback on shopping and eating out through Sprive, which goes straight toward our mortgage overpayments.
As soon as the savings between the two apps total £500, I make an overpayment (this is the minimum repayment amount required by our lender).
For us, our main goal is to pay less interest. If you do a quick mortgage overpayment calculator you see how much you could be saving in interest by making even small overpayments! We’d also like to become mortgage free as soon as possible! (wouldn’t we all?!)
My extendable airer
This is the one adult purchase that’s worth every penny!
Drying clothes in winter can be a nightmare, but this airer is an absolute game-changer!
I’ve tried heated airers, but I don’t rate them - clothes need space to dry properly, and cramming them together just doesn’t work.
Instead, I use this extendable airer over my radiator, and it dries clothes SO fast!
Highly recommend!
