Is the Merwave wavy hair kit really worth it?
I’ve spent years straightening, taming, and generally battling with my naturally wavy hair. Recently, someone recommended the Merwave brand to me, and I thought maybe it was finally time to embrace the waves instead of fighting them!
The kit includes 5 products:
Cleanse Shampoo
Repair Conditioner
Feed Treatment
Cast Foam
Protect Gel
The routine is meant to take around 15 minutes, and the formulas are specifically designed for wavy hair rather than tight curls, which means everything feels really lightweight.
Trying the Kit:
I ordered the kit with the intention of using it consistently for a few weeks, especially since my hair isn’t used to being styled without heat. After my first wash, using all the products in the correct order, my hair felt noticeably softer right away - so far so good!
Day 2:
I simply ran a bit of water through my hair, scrunched to reactivate the product, clipped the front pieces out of my face, and that was it. I didn’t wash or straighten it - but I did go dancing… and still no major frizz (yay!).
Day 3:
Normally, this is when my hair starts to look greasy and I end up restyling or putting it up. But honestly, I didn’t need to wash it! The waves were still intact, and I actually felt confident wearing it down. I eventually went for a curly up-do, not because it looked bad, but because it was getting slightly frizzy and I wanted it off my face.
Day 4:
I didn’t have time to wash my hair, so I mixed some gel with water and diffused it. I was definitely pretending I knew what I was doing, but I think I revived it pretty well! This is the diffuser I used.
I still can’t believe I was wearing my hair down four days after washing it. I think I’m officially converted to the wavy-hair life!
My verdict: is it worth it?
For me, the kit genuinely delivered results. My hair looked wavier, had more life, and felt much healthier than when I wear it straight. I also love how lightweight the products are—no heaviness, no crunch.
It is slightly on the pricier side of what I’d normally spend on products, but I’d still recommend giving it a go, especially if you’ve struggled to find products that work for your waves previoulsy and you’re happy to follow a hair-care routine. If you have thick hair or hair thats mostly straight you might want to try one of their other kits but it was definitely worth it for me!
And definitely let me know in the comments what routines or products work best for you!
