Is MoneySuperMarket’s SuperSaveClub actually worth it?
Some rewards programmes sound great in theory but end up being more hassle than they’re worth - do you agree? So when I first heard about MoneySuperMarket’s SuperSaveClub, I was a bit sceptical.
But after giving it a go (mainly because I was booking travel insurance anyway), I realised it’s actually really useful – especially if you’re a parent trying to keep costs down whilst still making fun memories!
So here’s the lowdown on what it is, how it works, and why I think it’s worth signing up.
What is SuperSaveClub?
In a nutshell, it’s a free rewards programme from MoneySuperMarket. Yep, completely free! Big tick. It gives you access to:
a Free Days Out Annual Pass (worth around £180) which grants you unlimited access to thousands of venues across the country for a whole year. There are so many options to choose from like zoos, bowling, swimming and trampolining, so it’ll keep you and the family entertained all year round.
cashback when you shop with brands like Amazon, ASOS and Just Eat. So whether you're buying clothing, homeware or takeaways, you can earn up to 10% cashback.
rewards in the form of gift cards from popular retailers or a pre-paid Mastercard when you buy things like travel insurance, broadband, car insurance etc.
You can even earn up to £130 a year if you’re purchasing a qualifying product. These include things like car, van, home, travel and pet insurance, broadband, mobile phone, SIM deals, plus selected credit cards, loans and energy tariffs. Not bad for something that costs nothing to join.
How to join SuperSaveClub
There are two ways to get started and both are super easy:
Buy a qualifying product – for example, travel insurance (which is what I did when booking our family trip to America).
Or – top tip – sign up for Credit Monitor. It’s completely free, takes about two minutes, and gets you access to all the SuperSaveClub perks without having to buy anything upfront.
Once you’re in, everything’s managed through the MoneySuperMarket app, which makes it really simple to keep track of rewards and claim offers.
The Free Days Out pass- the main perk!
This is the big selling point and the one we use the most!
The pass is worth around £180 and it gives you unlimited access to over 2,000 attractions of venues spanning the length and breadth of the UK for a whole year. There are so many options to choose from – think zoos (like London Zoo and Whipsnade), theme parks (Drayton Manor, Gulliver’s), Go Ape, bowling, museums, soft play – basically loads of family favourites so you should be able to find somewhere to visit!
You get one free ticket per week for Standard attractions. These tend to be less well known names, but that doesn’t mean they won’t be just as much fun! And you’ll get one free Hot Pick ticket every 30 days. These are the bigger attraction names with more expensive ticket prices, so potentially bigger savings. Vouchers are valid for 14 days, so there’s a bit of flexibility.
When the school holidays arrive or you're trying to fill a weekend with plans without splashing loads of cash, this is a lifesaver.
Other perks that add up
Whilst the free days out is a top perk, it’s not just the days out that make the SuperSaveClub worth it. It also offers:
cashback when you shop at well-known brands like Boots, ASOS, Just Eat, etc.
gift card or pre-paid Mastercard rewards. If you go through the app to buy insurance, broadband, mobile phones and more you can earn rewards up to £20 per product. Any money earned will go into your SuperSaveClub wallet and you’ll be able to exchange it for a gift card or a prepaid Mastercard.
a low cashout threshold of just £5. This means that when your wallet balance reaches this threshold, you can redeem your gift vouchers or prepaid Mastercard.
And it all works alongside any existing promo codes or discounts so there’s no need to choose one or the other.
I didn’t expect to use this bit much, but I’ve ended up getting a few handy gift cards just from switching things we needed anyway. It’s not life-changing money, but it’s money back in your pocket for stuff you were going to buy regardless.
Why it’s great for families
Like most parents, I’m constantly trying to strike the balance between giving the kids fun experiences and not spending a fortune. This helps make that possible and who doesn’t love a free ticket? The free days out mean we’ve done things we might have skipped otherwise and the cashback and rewards are small wins that add up over time.
And because there’s the option to join without buying anything, there’s no pressure to spend which I like.
My personal experience
I joined SuperSaveClub when I was booking our travel insurance for our holiday to America. I wasn’t expecting to use it much and thought I’d probably just grab the cashback and forget about it. But since I joined, I’ve genuinely used it loads! From planning weekend days out with the kids to earning small cashback bits here and there.
It’s quietly become one of those tools I actually use, and I recommend it to friends (and now you guys!) whenever the topic comes up. If you’re already booking something like travel insurance or broadband, it’s a no-brainer. But even if not, you could always just sign up for Credit Monitor and you’re in – no catch and zero cost! And you know I love a freebie!
