Eurocamp Review: Almafra

Welcome back to my Eurocamp review series!

If you’ve read my other Eurocamp blogs, you’ll know that it’s probably our favourite way to holiday! Don’t forget to check out my Ultimate Guide to a Eurocamp holiday blog, which has got everything you’ll need to know about booking a Eurocamp holiday.

We’re stepping into a Eurocamp site in Spain for this blog, so sit tight as I tell you everything you need to know about Almafra, a fantastic site about 15 minutes away from bustling central Benidorm. We travelled in July, just before the summer holidays and paid £900 to stay here.

The pool area kept the kids entertained

In all honesty, I had always dismissed Benidorm because I thought it was for party-goers and stag and hen dos - how wrong was I!? This site was so close to Benidorm but nowhere near any of the rowdy clubs. Here are the main reasons we loved this camp:

  • It was a small camp but never felt over crowded

  • The area was beautiful and you’d bever have guessed you were in Benidorm

  • One of the standout features of our visit was the exceptional service. Everyone we encountered spoke excellent English, with many staff members coming from England. The site is also English-owned, which made communication easy and enhanced our overall experience.

We flew into Alicante airport from Birmingham and hired a car for the short, 45-minute drive to the park. The journey was smooth, with the route being a straight motorway road. The park is also conveniently located just 15 minutes from the bustling town of Benidorm, making it easy to explore the local area.

Despite being a smaller site, the pool area never felt crowded

The accommodation was very standard Eurocamp - nothing fancy but with everything we needed as a base for our family holiday.

Our accommodation had 3 bedrooms, air con, a fully fitted kitsch and private outdoor decked areas.

We also got a welcome box which had all the essentials you needed - olive oil (which was probably about a tenners worth - olive oil is SO expensive right now!), tea, coffee, even some wine!

One of the highlights of our stay was the on-site restaurant. It was open from breakfast to dinner, and had a variety of delicious meals at really reasonable prices. There's an on-site shop too which is handy but quite small and it didnt stock everything, but luckily there is an Aldi supermarket just 10 minutes down the road!

There’s a brand new splash park on-site as well as a large pool and a dedicated kids' pool, so everyone can have a great time. While there are no slides, there's still plenty to keep the little ones entertained with fountains, water jets, and interactive splash zones. It's a mini water wonderland that the kids loved .

Despite being a smaller site, the splash park never felt overcrowded. We always found a sunbed and enjoyed a peaceful and relaxing environment. We visited in July, just before the summer holidays, and it was the perfect time to enjoy the amenities without the crowds.

There was so much to do for everyone! Even though there weren’t kids clubs, there's an arcade-style game area right next to the on-site shop, with lots of classic games and fun activities to keep them (and the adults!) busy.

And Dads will love the on-site sports bar!

There is something here for all ages! For the adults, there's a well-equipped on-site gym and spa and access to these costs just €5 per day and is exclusively for adults - meaning a totally peaceful and relaxing environment.

If you want to get out and about and explore beyond the park, the Waterfalls Fonts de L'Algar are about an hour away and definitely worth a visit - they were stunning!

The entry fee is £5 per person, and kids under 3 get in for  free. Just a note – it’s not pushchair-friendly, so something to think about if you’ve got buggies in tow!

I feel like I always say this about Eurocamps but yes, I would go back! As always, they provide the perfect base to explore a really lovely part of Spain.
