Croatia Eurocamp Review: Our Stay at Zaton Holiday Resort 2026
We've just spent 10 days at Zaton Holiday Resort in Zadar, Croatia and honestly, it completely exceeded our expectations.
It's genuinely one of the nicest Eurocamps we've ever stayed at and if you're looking for an easy family holiday where you don't need to hire a car, I'd 100% recommend it.
It's only around a two and a half hour flight from the UK, making it such an easy destination for families.
I first discovered Eurocamp back in 2014 on a holiday with Matt's family, and we've stayed at lots since then, but this resort is honestly one of the nicest we've ever visited.
Getting there
One of the biggest selling points for us is that Zaton Holiday Resort is only around 30 minutes from Zadar Airport.
We always hire a car because I love the freedom of it, but you honestly don't need one here. You can grab a taxi or Uber straight from the airport for around €37, which saves both money and the hassle of driving abroad.
If you've been thinking about trying a Eurocamp in Croatia but have been put off by hiring a car, this is the one I'd recommend.
Where we stayed
The lodge we stayed in was gorgeous. It honestly felt completely brand new, had great air conditioning (which you definitely need in the Croatian heat!) and the beds were soooo comfy.
The lodge was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for the 10 days. The resort is huge too, but getting around couldn't be easier because there's a free train that runs around the resort all day.
The resort
I honestly think the pools make this place. There are two huge pool complexes, both with gorgeous pools, waterslides and splash pads for the kids and we stayed there until closing time on one of the days because it was just so beautiful.
One thing that's a little different here is that you have to pay if you want to reserve a sun lounger in certain areas. Initially, I was a bit annoyed about it, but actually it works really well because people aren't putting down tonnes of towels on beds they're never going to use.
So there were always plenty of free loungers available and if you want one right by the children's pool you can reserve them for around £17 for two loungers. It also means you don't have to race down at 8am every morning.
The resort is right on the beach with the bluest water. There's loads to do, including water activities and one of the onsite restaurants overlooks the sea which makes it such a lovely place to sit for lunch or dinner.
Food and keeping costs down
There are loads of restaurants across the resort, so you definitely won't go hungry. To give you an idea of prices, burgers were around €16-€19 and something I always get asked about is allergens and the restaurants all had really clear allergen labelling, which was brilliant to see.
However, there's also a full-sized supermarket within walking distance if you'd rather cook for yourselves.
Why we love self-catering with kids
An easy dinner we did while we were there was a BBQ while the kids had an early night after a busy day.
I honestly love going self-catering since we've had kids. I couldn't imagine eating three meals a day in restaurants with them and finding it relaxing!
We usually have one meal out each day, then the rest back at the Eurocamp. The kids get to wind down in the evening and be in bed at a decent time, which is one of the many reasons we love Eurocamp holidays.
We also had some lovely picky teas during the holiday and in the hot weather, you really can't beat them.
Things to do nearby
If you do want to do some exploring there are some brilliant places nearby.
One evening we walked into Nin, a beautiful little Croatian town that's within walking distance of the resort. We found the most gorgeous place for dinner, and there were lots of lovely restaurants, little shops and places to wander around.
We also did Krka Waterfalls which was absolutely breathtaking and were one of the highlights of our holiday. It’s around half an hour from the resort and is 100% worth a day trip if you're staying in this part of Croatia.
While you're close to Zadar, the Sea Organ is well worth visiting. It's a series of pipes built into the waterfront that create music as the waves move through them. It's honestly so magical.
Why we’d recommend this Eurocamp
These were the standout reasons we'd happily return:
It’s only 30 minutes from Zadar Airport, so hiring a car isn't essential.
It’s right on the beach.
There’s two huge pool complexes with slides, splash parks and incredibly clean facilities.
You can walk into the beautiful town of Nin.
There’s a full-sized supermarket within walking distance.
The free train to help you get around the resort is entertainment in itself!
My honest thoughts, is it worth it?
Honestly, I can't recommend this Eurocamp enough. Whether you're looking for your first Eurocamp holiday or you're already a fan like we are, Zaton Holiday Resort is one of the best we've stayed at.
The combination of beautiful accommodation, incredible pools, direct beach access, nearby day trips and the fact you don't even need to hire a car makes it such an easy family holiday.
It's definitely one we'll be recommending to people again and again.
