How it works
Quidco is one of the original cashback sites and works in a very similar way to TopCashback. You start your shopping journey through Quidco, click through to the retailer and then earn cashback on your purchase.
There are thousands of retailers on there, covering everything from fashion and beauty to holidays, utilities, insurance and big household purchases.
The cashback rates can be really good, particularly when you're making a bigger purchase, so it's definitely one I recommend checking before you buy anything online.
My experience
I find Quidco particularly useful for insurance and bigger online purchases, where the cashback can be much more worthwhile.
It isn't necessarily the app I'd use for every single online purchase, but if I'm spending a decent amount of money, I'll always check Quidco alongside TopCashback to see who is offering the best rate.
The biggest downside is that you usually have to wait quite a while for cashback to become payable. Depending on the retailer, it can take several months, so this isn't one to use if you're expecting your cashback straight away.
Things to note
- You can get a sign-up bonus of up to £20, depending on the current offer.
- Particularly worth checking for insurance, holidays and bigger purchases.
- Cashback rates vary between retailers and can change, so always check before you click through.
- Cashback can take 3–6 months or sometimes longer to become payable, depending on the retailer.
- You need to start your shopping through Quidco for the purchase to track.
- It's worth checking both Quidco and TopCashback before a big purchase. One can sometimes have a much better rate than the other.
My verdict
A really good cashback site to have in your arsenal, especially for big purchases and insurance. I wouldn't rely on just one cashback site. Check Quidco against TopCashback before you buy and go with whoever is offering the most.
