If you’re trying to save money on Christmas this year, don’t wait until December to buy the toys!
The supermarket toy sales start much earlier than you might think, with some of the biggest sales already launching in September.
I’ve put together the predicted supermarket toy sale dates for Christmas 2026, so you can keep an eye out and hopefully pick up the toys you need before the prices creep back up.
I’ll also be updating this page as each sale goes live, so make sure you’re checking back regularly.
The toy sales that have already launched
Asda 50% off toy sale
Asda were one of the first supermarkets to launch their big toy sale this year, and there were some really good deals.
There were loads of Asda's own-brand toys included, alongside some big-name brands, and I was particularly pleased to see wooden toys included too.
So, if you don’t fancy battling it out at the Aldi wooden toy event later in October, this could be a good alternative.
The main thing I’d say is don’t assume you need to wait until December to start your Christmas shopping. These sales are a great reminder that some of the biggest toy discounts happen much earlier in the year.
Argos 50% off toy sale
The Argos toy sale launched in mid-September, and you can find deals on brands including Hot Wheels, Barbie, Bluey and more, with different offers available across the sale.
There are also some deals that can be stacked with other offers, so it’s worth checking that you’ve added your Nectar card before buying.
For example, some of the toys have 5x Nectar points!!
Some of the deals I spotted included:
- Half price toys - I spotted some good Bluey sets and Hot Wheels track sets.
- 25% off Magna Tiles - my kids absolutely love the travel version of these, so these are definitely on my list!
- 2 for £15 on selected toys, potentially saving you up to £10. Some good toys I spotted in this deal were the LEGO 3-in-1 kits, Play-Doh sets and wooden toys.
- 2 for £30 on selected toys, including things like cash registers, LEGO and Disney cars.
- 50% off selected toys with code TOYS50
- 30% off selected toys with code TOYS30
There are lots of different offers, and the click and collect option is so easy it’s definitely worth having a look before paying full price elsewhere.
Tesco toy sale
Next up was Tesco's toy sale. I didn’t think this one was quite as strong as the Asda sale, but there were still some good deals to be found, particularly if you’re shopping for younger children.
There were lots of VTech toys included, so if you’ve got little ones on your Christmas list, I wouldn’t wait around to grab these!
What toy sales are still to come?
There are plenty more sales coming up, so if you haven’t started your Christmas shopping yet, don’t panic!
The following dates are predictions for this years toy sales based off last year.
Morrisons
Morrisons' half-price toy sale is currently predicted for 5th October.
I’ll be keeping an eye out for this one and will update this page with all my favourite bits when it goes live.
Aldi wooden toy event
If you love Aldi's wooden toys, save the date! It’s currently predicted for Thursday 8th October.
These can be incredibly popular, so if there’s something specific you’ve got your eye on, it’s worth being prepared and getting there early.
Aldi toy sale
There’s also another Aldi toy sale currently predicted for 25th October, so there could be more opportunities to pick up Christmas presents at a lower price.
Sainsbury’s
Sainsbury’s half-price toy sale is currently predicted for Wednesday 21st October.
Smyths Toys
Smyths Toys is also currently predicted to launch its half-price toy sale on Wednesday 21st October.
Black Friday
And then, of course, we have Black Friday on 27th November.
This is another date to watch out for as Amazon usually have some great deals on toys starting from the week before and running until Cyber Monday!

B&M
B&M's toy sale is currently predicted for 2nd December, with a 3 for £20 toy deal that usually has such massive toys included!
If you’ve got a large amount of presents to buy, these sorts of multi-buy offers can be particularly useful.
When should you start buying Christmas toys?
Honestly, now! You don't need to go out and buy everything at once, but if you know what your children want, I’d start keeping an eye on prices now.
The biggest mistake can be leaving everything until December and then finding that the toy you want is either full price or sold out.
I like to keep a list of the things I want to buy and watch for them to go into a sale.
And remember, a discount doesn’t automatically mean it’s a bargain. It’s always worth checking the price elsewhere before buying and making sure the “saving” is actually a saving.
