How it works
Cheddar is another app where you can earn instant cashback by buying gift cards. It works pretty similarly to JamDoughnut, but I actually find the user experience on Cheddar really smooth.
You choose the retailer you want to shop with, choose how much you want to spend and buy the gift card through the app. Your cashback is added instantly, rather than having to wait for it to track. You can then use the gift card in-store or online, depending on the retailer.
There are loads of everyday brands on there including supermarkets, restaurants, fashion and travel, so it's worth checking before you spend. Cashback rates can vary quite a lot between retailers and can change, so always check the rate before buying.
My experience
I probably use Cheddar the least out of my cashback apps because, generally, I find the cashback rates aren't quite as good as some of the others.
That said, I really like how easy the app is to use. The cashback is instant and the gift cards are quick to find and use, so it's definitely one I'd have on my phone and check before making a purchase.

- You can withdraw your cashback to your bank once you've reached £5, with no withdrawal fee.
- There are 200+ UK retailers on the app, although the cashback rates vary.
- Cheddar also has Boosts, which can increase the cashback you earn when you've unlocked them through things like badges and streaks.
- You pay for the gift card directly from your bank using Pay by Bank, rather than entering your card details.
- As always with gift-card cashback, don't buy a gift card just for the cashback. Only buy one for money you were already planning to spend.
